Marilyn holds the UAE’s leadership, laws, culture, and people in high esteem and is fully supportive of Dubai’s economic growth and tourism initiatives.
Marilyn’s contributions extend beyond the realm of business. She is a sought-after keynote speaker and recently launched her podcast on FUBU Studio “That’s Life with Mimi,” in New York City. She was keynote speaker 2 years in a row at Harvard University Women in Business, International Sports Summit, and many more. She is currently leading the cultural content initiative for a Global 50th Anniversary HIPHOP Immersive Art show, collaborating with iconic hip-hop photographer Johnny Nunez to curate a collection of 400,000 unseen images, showcasing the history, music, and culture of hip-hop. She is also producing the Road to Stardom, a nationwide talent search visiting Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs). Notably, in the fall of 2022, she orchestrated HBCU WEEK DISNEY, a monumental event attended by over 8,600 students from 52 universities and colleges, resulting in more than $10 million in scholarships.
She delivered the Musee National Cultural Renaissance in Cameroon. Against all odds, this groundbreaking global event garnered a staggering one billion hits in a country that was considered off-limits. Within a mere four months, William “Bill” Egbe, CEO of Coca-Cola Africa, hailed it as the most meticulously organized and captivating event he had ever witnessed on the African continent. Marilyn personally trained and led a team of 160 African staff and volunteers, leaving no detail untouched—from decor, art, uniforms, lighting, to entertainment. The event featured performances by Dionne Warwick, FUGEES producer Jerry Wonder, and a special salute to the President by the Lead Ballerinas of the NY Ballet company. Meanwhile, a second stage hosted the winners of the Africa MTV awards, entertaining the youthful crowd.
Marilyn’s brilliance extended to strategic planning for the 35th Anniversary and European premiere of a documentary on Reginald F. Lewis, the first black billion-dollar dealmaker. Additionally, she spearheaded the launch of Loida Lewis’s book, “Why Should Guys Have All the Fun?” solidifying her reputation as a dynamic force in branding and investment. She created the first DEI event experience at Festival de Cannes that was a roaring globs success and attracted producers, bankers, influencers and celebrities from all over the world. Her events are attended by global royalty from Oprah, Gayle Zking, Robert F. Smith, Jaime Dimon, Clive Davis, Kenneth Chenault, Emeka Agbanari, to President Clinton, President Bush, President Obama, to sovereign royalty, to celebs. Not to mention when he was alive served on Larry Kings board, so she entertained his associates with events.
Marilyn’s thirst for new challenges led her to venture into investment and finance. She co-founded MALKA EQUITIES and became a partner in MALKA GROUP, a private equity firm specializing in real estate, commodities trading, commercial credit facilities, technology, entertainment, and humanitarian enterprises. Already securing major deals with China and possessing the capacity for bridge credit ranging from $50million to $60 million, TVT/MALKA GROUP is also involved in the construction of a refinery in Dubai. Marilyn’s ventures include investments in Measure and Made, a revolutionary sizing solution for women, and The BIZIO, the groundbreaking NextGen Tech Ecosystem and the only black-owned cloud platform.
Her philanthropic efforts and commitment to making a positive impact are remarkable. Her passion for people and her dedication to doing good inspire positive change. She serves on the Board of the Larry King Cardiac Foundation, and as a founding Board member for Dress for Success International. They welcomed fatherless boys into their home, providing them with shelter, food, and clothing.
